Welcoming our new colleagues
In 2021, we are blessed with the arrival of four new members during the challenging times of COVID-19:
Dr Nagender Aneja is working as Assistant Professor at School of Digital Science, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. He did his PhD in Computer Engineering from J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA and M.E. Computer Technology and Applications from Delhi College of Engineering. He is currently working in area of Deep Learning. He has 20+ years of experience that includes five years of Industry Experience at CPA Global for Microsoft Patent Research Services. Dr Nagender is currently serving as SDS Programme Leader (Computer Science) and Discovery Year Coordinator.
Dr Ajaz Ahmad Bhat is an Assistant Professor of Intelligent Robotics at the School of Digital Science, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Brunei and a visiting researcher at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, Japan. Prior to this posting, he worked as a Senior Research Associate at the University of East Anglia, UK and then as an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente, Netherlands. Ajaz’s research interests lie at the intersection of intelligent robotics, cognitive sciences, and consumer technologies with a special focus on understanding and designing developmental and cumulative learning systems. Dr Ajaz is currently serving as SDS Programme Leader (Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics).
Dr Mueen Uddin is currently working as Assistant Professor at the School of Digital Science, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. He completed his PhD in Information Systems from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia UTM in 2013. MS & BS in Computer Science from Isra University Hyderabad Pakistan in 2008 and 2005 respectively. Dr Mueen possesses strong research and teaching experiences in the domain of Cybersecurity and forensics, Information and Network Security, Cloud Computing Infrastructures, and Information Systems. Dr Ajaz is currently serving as SDS Programme Leader (Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics). Dr Mueen is currently serving as SDS SDS Postgraduate and Research Coordinator.
Dr Ali Tufail is currently working as a Senior Assistant Professor of Distributed and Cyber Physical Systems at the School of Digital Science (SDS), Universiti Brunei Darussalam. He completed his PhD in Information and Communication Engineering at Ajou University South Korea in 2011, Masters of Science in Advanced Computing at the University of Bristol UK in 2006 and Bachelor's degree in Information Technology at the National University of Sciences and Technology Pakistan in 2005. Dr Ali’s teaching and research specializations are in the areas of Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things and Vehicular Adhoc Networks. Dr. Ali has more than 10 years of teaching experience in countries such as Pakistan, South Korea, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. He has 25+ publications in renowned journals and conferences. Dr. Ali is currently serving as SDS Seminar Coordinator and Learning Technology Advisor.
