Imitation Learning-based Autonomous Driving
UBD SDS MSc student Noorsyamimi Abdul Ajak shares her research visit at the Institute for Safe Autonomy, University of York, UK
UBD School of Digital Science MSc student from Brunei, Noorsyamimi Binti Haji Abdur Ajak @ Abdul Rajak is currently visiting the Institute for Safe Autonomy, University of York, as part of her masters research project on Imitation Learning-based Autonomous Driving. Working under Dr Fanta Camara, she is currently working on implementing Game Theory on top of the existing imitation learning pipeline to improve the vehicle-to-vehicle interaction, particularly in lane-changing scenarios. Her research visit is funded by UBD Graduate Student Mobility (GSM) Scheme. Noorsyamimi will be working on this part of her research from 5 February to 31 May 2024.

The working experience here has been great. I receive strong supports from both my host and home supervisors, and all of us engage in regular discussions for my research.Â
I personally find AI and robotics fun because it is a constant learning experience for me. It is like uncovering something new every day! Having an interest in the field is crucial because when everything else fails, it is what keeps us going. Also, do not be afraid to try and grab any opportunities because what matters most is that you tried; the outcome is secondary.
Keep moving, keep learning, keep going!Â
At the School of Digital Science, Noorsyamimi is supervised by Dr Wee Hong Ong and Dr Owais Ahmed Malik. Learn more about Noorsyamimi’s research from the poster below.
