First SDS Research Seminar by Usman
Usman Sani presents his two papers on path loss prediction using machine learning.
We had our first SDS seminar on 3rd November 2021 via MS Teams with our PhD student, Usman Sani giving two talks:
A Hybrid Combination of a Convolutional Neural Network with a Regression Model for Path Loss Prediction Using Tiles of 2D Satellite Images
A Low Complexity Convolutional Neural Network for Feature Extraction of Satellite Images Used in Path Loss Prediction
Usman Sani is a PhD student in the School of Digital Science, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, co-supervised by Dr Owais Malik and Dr Daphne Lai, working on his project, “Development Of An Intelligent Framework For Path Loss Prediction In The Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Band”. He received the B.Eng. Electrical from Bayero University, Kano in 2008 and MSc Electronic Communications and Computer Engineering from the University of Nottingham in 2011. Since 2012, he has been an academic staff in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Bayero University, Kano. His research interests include measurements in the field of electronics and communication, and data modelling.
